HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE RATES:
Governor Charlie Crist is admitting homeowner's insurance rates have not gone down as much as he hoped or as much as you wanted. On Tuesday, he unveiled a new web site that might help you find a cheaper alternative. It lets you compare rates from different companies that offer service in your county. It's not perfect, but Crist says it's a start. He says, "So, we're trying to open it up. We're trying to create more transparency. We're trying to create more knowledge and a better opportunity for people to, for the first time, compare in a way that's easy - that they can do at home." Homeowner's insurance rates in Florida have only dropped 10-percent since the new law passed. That's not much when you consider how much rates skyrocketed after the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons.
